Are you looking to get your first DSLR camera? Looking to upgrade? Here is a look at what we use and what we recommend for you!
1. Sony a7R II Full-Frame
Sony a7R II Full-Frame Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera
This is the camera I currently use for portrait photography. I have always shot Sony and love their cameras. I love the flip out screens Sony have and they are smaller and lighter than most Canon and Nikons, which I prefer.
Lenses I use and recommend for portraits:
Sony 50mm f/1.4 Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera
Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM Lens for Sony MY FAVORITE LENS!
2. Canon EOS 5D Mark III 22.3 MP Full Frame
Canon EOS 5D Mark III
This camera is designed for advanced photographers and is professional grade. This is one of the best cameras on the market right now.
Lenses recommend for portraits:
50mm 1.2 Lens
85mm 1.2 Lens
3. Nikon D750 FX-format Digital SLR Camera
The Nikon D750 FX-format Digital SLR Camera Body is great for professional photographers and is great in low light. This camera is for intermediate level photographers.
Lenses I recommend for portraits:
4. Nikon D7200 DX-format DSLR
If you are looking to upgrade your camera the Nikon D7200 DX-format DSLR Body is a good one to go with. It’s better for intermediate level photographers and is a step up from the more budget friendly bodies.
Lenses I recommend for portraits:
85mm F1.4 Lens
5. Canon EOS Rebel T5 Digital SLR Camera Kit with EF-S 18-55mm IS II Lens
If you are just starting out in photography or just want a great family camera this is a great one. It’s very user friendly and it won’t break the bank. I would recommend upgrading to a prime lens.
Canon EOS Rebel T5 Digital SLR Camera Kit with EF-S 18-55mm IS II Lens
Lenses recommend for portraits:
50mm 1.2 Lens
85mm 1.2 Lens
6. Sony SLT-A77 II
This is another great camera if you are just starting out in photography or just want a great family camera. This is actually the first camera that I owned! It’s user friendly and like the Canon Rebel, it won’t break the bank. Not a lot of people shoot Sony, but I have only ever used Sony cameras and I love them. I would recommend upgrading to a prime lens.
